How many times have you been asked what are you passionate about? What makes your heart sing and feeds your soul?
For me, most of you would guess tea, and you’d be correct.
My store, sharing my teas with my wonderful customers, gives me great pleasure.
But what else?
Did you know I love to read? I enjoy mostly fiction and usually have 1 book started and 2 or more in the wings. It would never do to be without a book. I also enjoy keeping up to date with the current tea industry and new tea studies, so I’m always looking for those.
But did you know I love Golden Retrievers? My family and I have had Golden Retrievers since my oldest son was a year and a half. What started as a desire to have a wonderful family dog has evolved into a passion.
I started with one dog, and she sucked me into a whole other world as one dog became two. With the second dog came the dog show world. Yes, I was and am one of those people who can enter a dog show ring and exhibit my dog. If you’re unsure what I mean, think about the Westminster Dog Show you see on TV. I’ve done shows like that for years, and so has my daughter. I also do dog sporting events like agility, that’s the sport where dogs go through tunnels and over obstacles. This one keeps me in shape as I have to run to keep up with my dog. I’ve also done obedience, rally, barn hunt, fast cat, and lure coursing. I also breed one to two litters of puppies a year.
Some of you have known Phoebe since she was 8 weeks old. She has many loyal fans and is happy to see them and bring joy to everyone.
Phoebe is now on maternity leave. As of February 3rd, she delivered four healthy babies. Two boys and two girls. Sharing the maternity wing, also known as my sunroom, is her Aunt Maddie, who gave birth to six babies on January 25th. So I currently have two doting moms and 10 puppies.
My world is blessed, and did I mention busy? So, as I write this newsletter sitting in my puppy nursery marveling at these precious little miracles and their loving moms, sipping on Silver Needle White Tea with Jasmine, I realize my passions have overlapped. My customers, my tea, my dogs, and now I have to find a book, and all will be well in my world.
