It’s official. The holiday shopping season is now well and truly underway, with Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday behind us.
A tip that a good friend gave me years ago and that I have since adopted is to watch for gift items all year long. She is much better at this than me and is already done with all her holiday shopping. Annoying, right? Plus, she keeps reminding me how many days till Christmas...and so you can be in the loop with me, the count is now at 28 days.
I’m never completely done early and always find I have things I still have to get. So as the holiday gets closer, I start looking for items that I can find locally. I really try to shop local and shop small whenever I can. As a small business owner, I know how much I appreciate and value all my customers who shop with me, and I try and reciprocate whenever I can.
If I can’t find the time to physically go to a store, I will shop online with my favorite small businesses. This is also a great way to still support small and local businesses, and as Cyber Monday is today, I will let my fingers do the shopping.
