It’s the second week of January of our brand new year, and I feel pretty good about things. I took some time to reflect on the blessings of 2022, of which there were many, and what I’m looking forward to doing in 2023.

The month of January, for me, is all about getting physical. I bravely stepped onto my scale to see if I gained the “holiday ten.” Did you know that ten pounds is the national average that people gain during the holiday season, and also the average if you take a cruise? Does that mean you’d gain twenty if you did a cruise during the holidays? Kind of a scary thought, right?

Anyway, I knew I’d gained a few because my jeans felt a bit tight, but did I enjoy some wonderful treats during the last month. So, it’s time to get a handle on things and drop those pesky holiday pounds.

My personal goal is to get my workout routine back, which I’ve started on, while still allowing myself some treats so I don’t feel deprived. I find the easiest way to do that is by indulging in my dessert teas. They offer the sweetness I crave without the calories, which is a total win-win.

Here are a few of my favorites...

I love my Heavenly Hazelnut Black Tea, both in the regular and decaf versions. This black tea has real mini chocolate chips that just hit the spot when I’m craving chocolate. I enjoy the regular version early in the day, and as there’s no wrong time to have chocolate, I can have it at breakfast and then the decaf in the evening. Nothing wrong with having it twice, right?

Snickerdoodle Rooibos and Caramel Walnut Shortbread Rooibos are two more favorites. Since rooibos is high in antioxidants and vitamin C, I’m helping my immune system while indulging my sweet tooth. If you enjoy snickerdoodle cookies, you’ll love the Snickerdoodle Rooibos, as it tastes just like one. The Caramel Walnut Shortbread Rooibos is also delicious! The caramel buttery shortbread flavor is so soothing to my taste buds. Because these two teas are naturally caffeine-free, you can enjoy them any time of the day or evening.

And then there’s one of my newest teas and another chocolate one - Honeybush Chocolate Cake. Yes, it really does taste like chocolate cake. So when you’re really craving a chocolate fix but don’t want the calories, go for this one. Honeybush also contains high amounts of antioxidants and is naturally caffeine-free. It’s another win-win.

I have quite a few other dessert teas to tempt your taste buds. I encourage you to check them out and feel free to indulge in these teas, knowing you’re doing something wonderful for yourself.
