Uptown Tea Shop's Witch's Brew

October is always a fun month with the lead-up to Halloween. For some people, Halloween is their favorite holiday of the year. They enjoy displaying all the spooky decorations in both their houses and yards. Pumpkin carving is always a pleasant activity at the top of my fun list. I think adults enjoy it as much as the kids do; I know I do. The culmination of the month is Halloween with trick-or-treating for the kids or parties for the adults. At the shop, we always participate in our town’s “Fright Night” and trick-or-treating. We pass out candy, serve “Witch’s...

October always heralds the beginning of pumpkin season. Pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin scones, pumpkin pie, and wonderful pumpkin teas. First up is Aunt Patty’s Pumpkin Pie. This tea tastes just like pumpkin pie. If you want to up the flavor profile, add a dash of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon, and you’ve got dessert in a cup. Pumpkin Spice Latte Black Tea is another good choice. Slightly sweeter than Aunt Patty’s Pumpkin Pie with a bit of cream and spices. This tea is an excellent choice to warm up with. Try adding steamed or warmed milk to...

The leaves are turning from rich greens to vibrant oranges and reds as we slide into fall. This time of year has always screamed apple picking at my local orchards for myself and my family. Over the next week or so, a portion of the apples we picked were...

I love herbal teas. Why? Herbal teas come in many different flavors. In my store, I carry around 30 of them. I am sure that there are quite a few herbal teas that can entice even the most sophisticated palate. Herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free and are therefore ideal for enjoying in the evening, like my Good Night, Sleep Tight tea or the Sweet Dreams Herbal. When drinking herbal teas, you don't need to worry about the late-night caffeine spike keeping you up all night. As you may already know, herbal teas are also phenomenal when you serve them cold. They can taste fruity...
Happy Fall, Everyone

The calendar says fall officially starts on September 22nd this year. I can already feel it in the air, can’t you? The cooler mornings and the crispness as you step out in the mornings feels so refreshing. I actually needed a light jacket today when I was out with the dogs. It appears I’ve officially turned into a southern weather wimp. As the weather changes, so do my taste buds for what teas I like to drink. I shift from summery fruit teas to the apples, cinnamons, caramels, maples, and pumpkins. All of these great flavors are now in stock...
