It’s Time to Paint the Town Green
Posted by Dani Noto on
A week from Thursday is St. Patrick’s Day.
For all of you who are Irish or anyone who secretly wants to be, this is your day to celebrate.
Stefan. Patrick’s Day recognizes the heritage and culture of the Irish people in general. It commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. There is the traditional Irish-American meal of corned beef and cabbage, and of course, the beverage of choice is “green” beer. I still fondly remember my first frosted glass of the “green” beverage as a young college student.
So, how do I celebrate now?
By drinking lots of Green Tea, of course.
A favorite is Irish Cream Green Tea. It’s a smooth green tea with Irish Cream flavor and vanilla. It will transport you to the Emerald Isle.
I also enjoy Green Enchantress, especially as an iced tea with its two types of cherries.
I will also wear my lucky four-leaf clover pin and favorite green shirt.
Who knows why you should wear green on St. Patrick’s Day?
Because of the Leprechauns, of course.
The tradition is tied to folklore that says wearing green makes you invisible to Leprechauns, who like to pinch anyone they can see.
If you accidentally forget to wear your green, avoid the pinching by offering them a mug of my Green Cinnamon Twist Tea. It’s naturally sweet with three types of cinnamon and will put the most ornery Leprechaun in a festive mood.
To help you get your “Irish” on, we’re having a special Green Tea Tea Tasting event on Thursday, March 17th, at 6 p.m. We’re going to be sampling, you guessed it, green teas. We’ll have a variety of flavors for you to taste! It’s going to be lots of fun. We don’t want the Leprechauns getting a chance to pinch us, so we’re encouraging participants to wear something green. Of course, that’s not mandatory, but don’t blame us if you get pinched. We hope you come and join us and enjoy the many flavors of green tea.
You can sign up for this event through the website or call the store (734) 777-4870 to reserve your seat.
My Irish Blessing for you - “May your pockets be heavy and your heart light, may good luck pursue you each morning and night.”
And just for fun - “Never iron a four-leaf clover because you don’t want to press your luck.”
I hope you’ll take a few minutes and browse through all of our green teas and get your “Irish” on.
