Chai Tea

Happy Fall!

Are you a Cha lover? Cha?

What’s Cha?

Did I mean chai and spelled it wrong?

Nope. “Cha” and “tea” are two names for the same plant and beverage, originating from different pronunciations of the Chinese word.

In the Mandarin Chinese dialect, the word for tea is pronounced “chá”. Countries that received tea through land routes, like the Silk Road, adopted “cha” or “chai”.

It's Chai Time

Maritime tea trade routes became prominent, especially to Europe. The Dutch, who traded along the coast of Fujian Province, adopted the local term “te” or “tea” as we know it today.

Therefore, “Chai” and “tea” refer to the same brewed drink from the Camellia sinensis plant.

But, there’s always a but, right?

The term “chai” in Western culture often specifically refers to Masala Chai, a spiced and sweetened black tea that is brewed with milk and spices such as cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon.

Pumpkin & Spice Chai Black Tea

Now, let’s talk about one of my favorite fall and winter teas that is also a customer favorite: the delicious Pumpkin & Spice Chai.

This seasonal favorite is finally back in stock after its long hiatus from last fall/winter.

If you haven’t tried Pumpkin & Spice Chai yet, it may soon become your favorite tea to look forward to each Fall and Winter! Those of you who’ve enjoyed this tea in previous years know just how good it is!

This chai blend boasts a perfectly balanced full-leaf Assam black tea base, complemented by cinnamon, ginger, green cardamom pods, allspice, cloves, and pumpkin flavor to warm you up for the cooler weather. This tea makes an amazing pumpkin latte with the simple addition of steamed milk. This seasonal treat will have you coming back for more.

Pumpkin & Spice Chai is limited-edition—stock up before it’s gone. Don’t miss your chance; it won’t return until next year.
