Want a healthy, delicious beverage?
I do.
I'm now more health-conscious and pay attention to what I eat and drink.
I'm excited to let you know that black teas and rooibos not only taste great but also have many health benefits.
I recently wrote about Fall teas, most of which are black or rooibos. There are lots of reasons to enjoy them every day.
The Benefits of Drinking Black Teas and Rooibos
Black tea and rooibos contain antioxidants, which may boost your immune system, lower disease risk, and support your overall health.
Studies suggest black tea may help reduce LDL (bad cholesterol), lowering heart disease and stroke risk.
Support Gut Health, Immunity, and Heart Wellness
Your gut and immune system are closely connected. Supporting gut health and good bacteria can also boost your immune system. Since black tea and rooibos have polyphenols and natural antimicrobial qualities, they may help improve your gut health and immunity.
Drinking black tea regularly may help lower high blood pressure and related health risks.
Reduce Stroke Risk, Support Blood Sugar, and Strengthen Immunity
Strokes are a major health concern worldwide, but many can be prevented. Studies have found that black tea may lower the risk of stroke.
Black tea and rooibos are unsweetened drinks that may help manage blood sugar and support how your body uses insulin.
Black tea and rooibos have polyphenols that help boost your immune system. This may help your body fight cancer cells and possibly lower the risk of some cancers.
Be on Top of Your Game
Black tea can help you focus because it has some caffeine, though not as much as coffee. It also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that helps with alertness. On days when you need to be on top of your game, black tea is your ace in the hole.
Making tea is easy; it takes just a few minutes, and you can adjust the taste to your liking.
Tea Is a Guilt-Free Part of My Day!
I also love that black tea and rooibos are great if you want a low- or no-calorie, unsweetened drink with less caffeine or none at all compared to coffee or energy drinks. Itβs a guilt-free part of my day.
