Small Steps, Real Progress: Resolution-Free Wellness

Welcome to 2026! I hope your start to the year has been peaceful and full of promise.

Last year, we talked about "Quitters Day"—that infamous 19th day of January when most resolutions officially hit the shelf. I’ve been thinking a lot about why that happens, and I realized I’ve been right there with you.

The reason: Massive, sweeping changes can be overwhelming.

I have tried setting those ambitious, "all-or-nothing" goals myself, and I failed almost all of them by Quitters Day.

I’ve since learned to embrace small steps instead, because small steps over a long timeframe add up to truly significant progress.

That is why I’ve moved away from those "pesky" resolutions that feel like a chore.

Instead, what if we focused on progress through small, joyful rhythms?

Real wellness isn't about being perfect; it's about finding those little habits that make you feel like the best version of yourself.

You can't pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.

For me, that progress looks like:

  • The Power of the Pause: Taking five minutes of quiet while my tea steeps to breathe and set an intention.
  • Small Wins: Choosing a shorter 90-day focus rather than a daunting year-long goal.
  • Sustainable Sips: Swapping just one sugary drink for a nourishing herbal blend or a vibrant green tea.

When we focus on how we want to feel—energized, calm, or focused—suddenly "wellness" doesn't feel like a rule we’re going to break. It feels like a gift we’re giving ourselves.
